Hunter S. Thompson is one of a handful of authors who has had a profound impact on me. He willingly participated in a number of crazy things that would easily have made an average man pray for death; so maybe his decision to take his life tonight is an indication we aren't doing too damned well. I hope there's something better out there for you, you old bastard.

I didn't enjoy "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" as much as most people did. However, I agree that he was a brilliant and talented man....
Catch ya' on another side, Hunter.

Fear and loathing was wonderful, but his hells angels book, and what he actually did for the story, was definatley nuts. so far as drugs...he hung out with ken casey and the dead doing massive amounts of lsd ...vegas god knows how much he really had, and of what.. somehow he still managed to still be brilliant if not as off the wall as one truly should be.
Hunter Pwns all j00r bits, and pills.
If you havn't yet, read the rum diaries, hells angels, fear and loathing, and of course, where the bufflo roam. =D
